Homework for Year 1 and Year 5
Please see the letter regarding homework changes in the 'Letters' section.
In light of government guidance and reviewing our homework policy as a staff team. We will continue to use Purple Mash as our online learning platform.
Each Friday, your child’s class teacher will upload a PowerPoint explaining the homework set for that week. An open-ended task will be set based on a learning objective taught in class that week, a guided reading task and activity linked to their weekly spellings.
Additionally, the list of recommended book reads, the key instant recall facts (KIRFs)and the spellings for the term will stay on Purple Mash throughout the term.
Your child will be expected to upload evidence (e.g. photo of the work) of them completing their weekly homework into their work folder on Purple Mash, which will then be checked and a comment will be left as feedback from their teacher or teaching assistant. Evidence must be uploaded onto Purple Mash by 9a.m on Friday morning. Please see the attached guidance on how your child can upload their evidence.
Homework will be uploaded from Friday 18th September. In the meantime, your child can log on and practise their spellings and KIRFs for this term.
To find your child’s homework, please log on > click on the ‘work tab’ > click on the small arrow next to ‘class’ > a folder should appear with your child’s year group and name of class teacher. Once your click on here, you should be able to see the work uploaded by the class teacher. Please see a more detailed description of this process and how to upload compelted homework, please access the 'Letters' section and see the 'Uploading work to Purple Mash' document.
